Minnesota Integrative Health Studio offers several types of massage therapy and bodywork. Read below to learn more about each type of therapy.

Offered by Elsie Olin, CMT
60 minutes: $100
Therapeutic bodywork is a blend of therapies used to sooth the nervous system, release tension, address common soft tissue conditions, injuries acute and/or chronic, and limited range of motion. It works to access deep muscle structures, break up scar tissue (both new and old), disengage the fibers from abnormal adhesions, and integrate changes into cranial sacral and myofascial systems.
Myofascial Release
Offered by Derrick Lundberg, CMT
30 minutes: $50
60 minutes: $100
90 minutes: $150
Our bodies hold on to past traumatic events like accidents or injuries which can become lodged in our tissues, keeping our bodies from moving freely and, often, causing chronic pain symptoms. MFR can unravel the web holding onto these traumas, freeing us up to move on and enjoy our lives again. If you are feeling stuck (mentally, emotionally, or physically), MFR may be just what you need to find your next steps.
John Barnes' Myofascial Release offers a safe and profoundly effective approach to manual therapies. Growing from the Craniosacral work of John Upledger, John Barnes has followed the results, allowing MFR to reach remarkable depths. Using the skin as a handle, we use the fascia to reach deeply into the body, offering an adaptive pressure, ranging from off the body energy work, to a rather firm, but not forceful pressure that meets us right at the barrier of where we are, taking pressure off of pain sensitive structures and nudging us along our healing journey towards wholeness.
MFR uses extended holds to encourage change in the body. These holds are often not painful and feel like "a good stretch." MFR practitioners hold this good stretch at each resistance barrier, allowing for the tissue to melt and change, and repeating until the targeted area releases.
For best results in MFR is performed with skin-to-skin contact. During an MFR session there is often stretching , movement, and a standing evaluation. I do recommend wearing or bringing athletic shorts and a bra if applicable.
Visceral and Neural Manipulation
Offered by Derrick Lundberg, CMT
30 minutes: $50
60 minutes: $100
Visceral manipulation is a manual therapy technique that consists of gentle, very specifically placed manual forces that encourage normal mobility, tone, and inherent tissue motion of the viscera (organs), their connective tissue and other areas of the body where physiological motion has been impaired.
The purpose of Visceral manipulation is to re-create, harmonize, and increase proprioceptive communication in the body to enhance its internal mechanism for better health, thereby revitalizing a person, and relieving symptoms of pain, dysfunction, and poor posture. Visceral Manipulation treats a person's functional and structural imbalances with an aim to affect their musculoskeletal, vascular, nervous, urogenital, respiratory, digestive, and lymphatic dysfunction.
At the core of Visceral manipulation is 'listening' to the tissues with our hands. Through manual listening techniques, trained hands of a skilled practitioner feel where the tissues are pulling toward the areas of restriction, the areas where the body is not moving, and the areas of the greatest impact on the person's wellbeing from the manual therapy perspective.
Reflex Integration for Stress Resilience
Offered by Rebekah LaVone, RN, PHN, HNB-BC
60 minutes: $100
When we experience chronic stress and or trauma our body is the master at adaptation, while this adaptation serves a positive role in protection and survival, it is not sustainable to live in this perpetuated state. This can lead to a whole host of undesirable symptoms which results in our internal system experiencing chaos. One example is an enhanced startle reflex (body jumps when we hear a sudden noise or unexpected touch). When our body has this hyperactive reflex, we may have a hard time being fully present, calm, and our body may feel on edge. Throughout the day we will continue to get these adrenaline surges through our body that taxes our whole body system which leads to an exhaustive system that can not work efficiently.
During a session, it will look a lot like body work or a combination of physical therapy and massage. A client will rest comfortably on a massage table with their shoes off. They can either be sitting or laying down, which ever is most comfortable and safe for them. I will work with the somatosensory system to bring the input that your nervous system needs to bring the connection/circuit back to these primary reflexes. This is typically done with a hands on approach, but if touch is not safe for a client, it can be adapted to be hands off.
Come join me for an invitation: Being present in our body, and safely connecting our internal world and external world through the reflex circuit
